Very First rough cut

After doing our filming Lauren and I spent the lesson importing and roughly placing some of the hots and clips into place where we wanted them to go and were able to edit a part of the chorus.

Final Music Video

Below is my final music video:

First Filming session

Today, Lauren and I had our first filming day. We had planned to film all our shots, which were in front of the green screen. Initially we found it difficult to fit the whole of our actor in the frame of the camera as not only was she was moving horizontally across the green screen but she had her hands vertically above her head, making it difficult to fit the whole move in the shot. However we were able to easily and effectively solve this problem by moving the camera back during the filming and then cropping the screen during the editing process. When filming we made sure we used our storyboard so we knew exactly what we were creating, however we also filmed extra shots incase they were needed in the editing stages. These are some photos of Lauren and I whilst filming our first shots.

First editing session

Over the weekend Lauren and I had another filming session. We quickly encountered many problems, the most significant being the lighting and reflection in the windows, which would be seen on camera. As a result we began taking our shots against a wall, where we filmed out actor singing the lyrics which we will later lip-sync. We also took multiple shots of our actor performing various dance moves which we can later edit. Although we were able to get some shots, in many we found the lighting was not quite right making the quality of the recording look slightly grainy and therefore not as good quality as we would have hoped. After selecting some of out clips we moved onto the first stage of editing. We quickly incorporated techniques we had hoped so including reversing the clip, slow motion and overlaying. This is the first rough cut of our music video.
