We began to look at music videos with dancing in them, to see the length of the shots and type of shots. All shots in this music video were extremely long, so we would therefore like to incorporate a combination of both long and short shots.
Another of Beyonce's music videos which we liked was 'If I were a boy' An element of this music video I really liked was the white and black colour grading- this was used in anoher of Beyonce's music videos and was extremely effective.
Lauren and I have been looking at music videos to get an idea of what we could do in our coursework. We began looking at professional ones to get a better insight. We really liked the under water effect in the music video 'Halo', as well as the slow motion added to it. Although it may be difficult we would like to try and create something similar- possibly using a go-pro. As well as this, we liked the idea of using dancing in our music video, so will therefore try and use this. The white colour grading used over the whole music video made it look much more visually attractive as well adding to the tone of the song- therefore we would like to try and incorporate this.
In our first lesson for A2, we began watching short films, documentaries and music videos to give us ideas for our won coursework. After looking at other peoples coursework, Lauren and I have decided we would like to do a documentary. Although they are not as common, we still think it would be interesting to do something different. However we are also interested in doing a music video!
