Creating a silhouette

For our preliminary task of 'Four, Five Seconds' we needed to create a silhouette to try and replicate the actual video. Firstly, we inserted our clip, we then added the 'keyer' from the effects list on Final Cut and applied it to our clip and added the 'matte view'. We then inverted the colours to make it black and white. We watched the youtube video below to help our understanding of creating a silhouette.

Final Music Video

Below is my final music video:

First editing session

Over the weekend Lauren and I had another filming session. We quickly encountered many problems, the most significant being the lighting and reflection in the windows, which would be seen on camera. As a result we began taking our shots against a wall, where we filmed out actor singing the lyrics which we will later lip-sync. We also took multiple shots of our actor performing various dance moves which we can later edit. Although we were able to get some shots, in many we found the lighting was not quite right making the quality of the recording look slightly grainy and therefore not as good quality as we would have hoped. After selecting some of out clips we moved onto the first stage of editing. We quickly incorporated techniques we had hoped so including reversing the clip, slow motion and overlaying. This is the first rough cut of our music video.

Risk assessment

To ensure when Lauren and I film our music video, it goes well without any injuries or accidents we decided to create a risk assessment. By doing this we are now prepared for any risks that may come and can effectively deal with.
